Wow, I missed that you'd stopped your run streak!

I've really struggled to train consistently this year. I want to say since starting my new job last year actually, but I think it started before then. Then earlier this year I started to get more consistent with my running, I was going to the gym under my office, things were going well. Then I went on holiday. Managed to keep up with the runs in the first week when we were with my mum's friends and I could get away, but then it was just me and Mum and we were in less runnable places. Then came home to a heatwave. Me and heat don't mix, so there was no running. Then I caught a cold that went on my chest and took ages to recover from. Then another heatwave, and another.

I'm cycle touring next week, it will be quite gentle exercise though. When I get back I'm hoping the weather will have settled down and I'll be able to get back into a routine.

My worry (with anything) is that if I stop I won’t start again. Restarting is hard. And this heat is hard too.

I’m not running everyday anymore, the difference I feel now is that I’ve got that feeling back of wanting/needing to go for a run. I’d missed that. I’m also back to Pilates which I love and strength training, not with a PT but good old Les Mills body bump! I feel I’ve gone full circle!

That sounds like you have a good balance!
