The end of term approaches!
I don’t know about you, but I get so tired as the end of term approaches. I was looking at my garmin ‘sleep scores’ and they were so much lower this week. I think I just don’t sleep as well when I’m over tired. There has been so much going on that my routine is out the window. This is a challenge for me as I’m very routine driven. I’ve had to shuffle workouts around and I couldn’t plan my meals like I usually do it’s felt a bit chaotic!
As a result, this week has been all about making things as easy as possible and celebrating the wins (however small they might be!).
First up I’ve been wearing dresses, as that means there is much less to think about. My favourites have pockets like this one from Hush
or this one from Aligne:
In terms of meals, I’ve tried to make sure that I’ve eaten well at breakfast and lunch. Breakfasts in the week are usually Greek yoghurt with some oats, chia seeds, flax/linseeds and some nuts. For lunch I’ve been enjoying tinned fish with some crackers (my current favourites are Dr Karg or the M&S version) which I have with some shredded cabbage, carrots and some seeds. I add a drizzle of olive and some vinegar, and maybe some kimchi if I’ve got some. I make a box at the weekend and it keeps well in the fridge for a few days.
What are your favourite lunches?
My favourite run this week was the one I squeezed in on Wednesday. I had about 35 minutes, so I went for some short intervals. A ten minute warm up, followed by 20 second intervals with 45 second recoveries, finishing up with a ten minute cool down. It went really quickly and instead of focusing on speed I focused on form: picking my feet up and turning them over quickly. It definitely felt good at the end!
And the view in the park was gorgeous!
Thanks for reading, and please share any time saving hacks that you have!
